Weather-resistant

Acrylic or this Opal Acrylic Sheet is opposing extreme weather conditions and UV. It can have a life of about 15 – 20 years when used outside and is completely durable in all weathers. The excellent strength is one of the reasons it is used for outdoor applications such as windbreaks and skylights etc. For these purposes, it also helps that acrylic is UV and weather resistant. Its thick surface doesn’t allow the water and dust to stick with it. Therefore Regular cleaning with an anti-static plastic cleaner is recommended to prevent the sheet from attracting dust.

Strength and Weight
The acrylic sheet or Opal Acrylic Sheet weighs about half of regular glass, i.e. 50% less than standard glass, and still, it is more robust than glass; the sheet is almost  30 times as force resistant. You need a lot of force to break than an acrylic sheet. Although it is not easy to break the sheet or Opal Acrylic Sheet when it breaks, It does not break like the pieces of glasses, but it breaks like a clean line. This will be especially apparent when comparing thicker acrylic and glass sheets.

Easy Processing
It is straightforward to work with acrylic, but first, understand the difference between cast and extruded sheets. Both sheets are helpful in their ways. In some instances, Extruded sheets are less suitable for specific processing because of internal tension in the material. This tension makes extruded sheets extremely difficult to break when you drill or saw them. So with the right tools and preparation, it is easy to work with a cast sheet. A protective film covers the sheet to protect it from damage during transport and handling.
